Make that 2:45 - my arrival time in Yuma on Friday. Seemed like a long, hot drive from Tucson across that desert.
Found my little motel, the Yuma Cabana, without too much problem. Grabbed a late lunch at McDonald's, drove around the town a little, then just hung out at the motel for the rest of the evening, except for a quick run to a grocery store down the street for some snacks. Thought about going to see the 3:10 to Yuma movie, but felt tired and wasn't in the mood for movie.
This motel has the neatest 50s-style neon sign outside! But there's nothing else particularly special about it. My room is large, with a king bed. The walls are white painted brick; good for insulation, I suppose. All they offer in the way of breakfast is coffee, juice, and packaged muffins.
DANG - that Check Engine light went on in my car again last night. What is going on with that thing??? Guess I'll pay another visit to the local Chevy dealer before I hit the road for San Diego today.
